CAMPAIGN MEDAL

This medal was awarded to all officers and men who served in Natal from 1877 to 1879. It was awarded with a variety of bars to indicate the recipient's service: 1877, 1877-78, and 1879. Naval shore parties received the medal without a bar.  The obverse of the  medal shows the head of Queen Victoria and the reverse a crouching lion and the words “South Africa.”
   This is a superb copy of the original,  die-struck in nickel and silver-plated. It comes complete with working swivel suspender and the “1879” campaign bar. The ribbon is golden yellow with dark blue stripes.
