FIELD GRAY WOOL M43 FIELD CAP

   The famous German visored field cap was first issued in 1943, following the success of the SS camouflage version introduced the year before. Modeled on the short-visored cap long worn by mountain troops, it was an immediate success on all fronts.
     The field gray wool model was worn by both Army and Waffen SS and had a fold-down flap to cover the ears that was secured by 2 small aluminum buttons at the front.
     Our caps are fully lined in typical cotton fabric, with proper ink stamp markings of the manufacturer, size and date. The enlisted caps are made from fine quality wool that is custom woven to match the original colors. They are complete with the correct style visors and Assmann style pebbled aluminum buttons in front.

HAT SIZES
Unlike modern caps, these caps are not adjustable. To order a cap you need to specify size. Don’t be embarrassed if you don’t know your hat size — in this day of adjustable one-size-fits-all baseball caps most of us never think about it.
